The 4th edition of the Wine Tourism Awards Wine Routes of Spain, organised by ACEVIN, recognise the quality of the event organised jointly by the seven wineries that make up this emblematic district of Haro.

The Barrio de la Estación Tasting has been awarded Best Wine Tourism Initiative at the 4th edition of the Wine Tourism Awards of the Wine Routes of Spain, organised by the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN), with the support of the Secretary of State for Tourism and Turespaña. This activity, the third edition of which was held last June, has been worthy of this award “for the cooperation of a group of wineries in Rioja Alta, located in an emblematic neighbourhood steeped in history, in the organisation of an event of great global projection that combines tradition, tasting of premium wines, the cuisine of renowned chefs, unique proposals in each winery and a festive and fun atmosphere around the culture of wine”.

This recognition is the result of the decision of a jury made up of some twenty experts from the wine tourism sector from the organising associations as well as professionals from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, from the wine sector such as the Spanish Wine Federation, the Spanish Confederation of Regulatory Councils or the Spanish Wine Market Observatory, from the wine tourism sector such as the Association of Wine Museums of Spain, the Spanish Association of Wine Tourism and Gastronomic Tourism, as well as accredited critics, writers and specialised journalists.

In this way, La Cata del Barrio de La Estación adds a new milestone to its list of awards, which already includes the “Rioja Capital Award for the Singular Initiative Linked to Agri-Food Resources” 2016 from the Government of La Rioja, the “Award for the Best Wine Tourism Experience” 2016 at the International Wine Challenge Awards Spain and the “Best of the Best Wine Tourism Initiative” 2015, awarded by the International Network of Great Wine Cities-Great Wine Capitals.

This new award will be presented on 16 November at a ceremony to be held at the Real Fábrica de Tapices in Madrid, which will be attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism and possibly the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism.
