Get to know us

With more than a hundred years behind it, Bodegas Bilbaínas has remained faithful to the philosophy that its founder Santiago de Ugarte dreamt of one day in 1901.

Registered as the oldest bottling company in La Rioja, it is proud to be the winery with the largest surface area of underground cellars in the region (3,400 m2) and the largest area of vineyards in the municipality of Haro surrounding it. The vineyards are of a privileged quality, which ensures exhaustive control during the growing cycle as well as a rapid entry of the grapes into the winery without any loss of quality.

Established in the heart of the Haro railway station district, its strategic location has allowed the winery to take advantage of the train as a means of transport from the outset to get its wines to any corner of the planet.
Many vintages have passed since then and during this time, with its flagship brand, Viña Pomal (1904), the winery has maintained its personal style that has brought so much success and recognition to this appellation internationally.

Today, Bilbaínas owns some of the most prestigious and emblematic wines and sparkling wines in Rioja, including its classics Viña Pomal, Viña Zaco, Viña Vicuana, Lumen and Royal Carlton as well as its Singular Wines made from Garnacha Blanca, Maturana, white Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha.

A visit to this centenary winery is a must for any wine and sparkling wine lover, with its own shop and Wine Bar where you can taste its wines characterised by their modernity and high expression; the experience is completed with a wide range of wine tourism activities in Spanish, English and French.
