• The pandemic forces the event to be moved to 19 June 2021.
  • Tickets already purchased for this year will be valid for the 2021 event.

The Barrio de la Estación Association has decided to postpone La Cata del Barrio de la Estación, which was to be held on 20 June 2020, due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19. The new date for the celebration of this great wine and gastronomy festival, a world reference for wine tourism, is 19 June 2021.

The postponement is taken as a preventive and responsible measure to ensure that this great event maintains its true essence: the pleasure of sharing and toasting together with the best wines of La Rioja. For this reason, the organisers have taken the decision to set a new date for La Cata del Barrio de la Estación and thus guarantee its continuity for all wine and food lovers who were planning to attend this year’s event.

Regarding the tickets already purchased by those interested, the organisation is offering the possibility of keeping the 2020 ticket for 2021, which will be valid without the need to change it. In addition, a box of six of the twelve wines that would have been tasted at the 20 June edition (one from each winery) can be purchased at a very special price for those who keep or purchase their ticket, in order to hold a virtual alternative Cata del Barrio, adapted to the circumstances, to coincide with the date of the postponed tasting. Part of the proceeds from this box will be donated to charity to alleviate the effects of the pandemic in sectors such as the hotel and catering industry. However, anyone who wishes to do so may request a refund of the advance ticket price.

The 2021 edition will have the same philosophy and characteristics as the celebration planned for 2020. The six participating wineries (Bodegas RODA, Bodegas Bilbaínas Viña Pomal, CVNE, Bodegas Muga, La Rioja Alta, S.A., and Gómez Cruzado) will offer two wines each, as well as various dishes and a dessert prepared by renowned chefs.
