For the first time, the six wineries in the Barrio de la Estación will be lighting up their Christmas lights together, inaugurating a wide range of activities to celebrate and enjoy this special time of year.

For the first time, the Barrio de la Estación Wineries Association will be lighting their Christmas lights together, thus inaugurating a wide range of activities to celebrate and enjoy this special time of year in this emblematic enclave of Haro, surrounded by wineries with history and avant-garde, wine culture and gastronomy.  A unique experience in which you can stroll among beautiful light compositions, enjoy magnificent wines and tapas at the six wineries that make up the Association (CVNE, Gómez Cruzado, La Rioja Alta, S.A., Viña Pomal Bodegas Bilbaínas, Bodegas Muga and Bodegas RODA) or attend a Christmas concert.

The lighting of the Christmas lights will take place on 3 December at 18:00h, in the central car park of the Barrio de la Estación (next to the tunnel) and will be open to all the public who wish to attend, always respecting the required safety and health measures.

On the same day, at 19:00 in the centenary CVNE winery, a Christmas concert will be held under the title “In dulci jubilo” – Music for a Baroque Christmas with works by Juan Sebastián Bach and Spanish Baroque composers by the Accademia Del Piacere, an early music ensemble conducted by the viologist of Syrian-Palestinian descent Fahmi Alqhai, who has performed on the best musical stages in the world. This concert is priced at €40 and includes a Christmas agape. Tickets can be purchased through this link.

During all Fridays and Saturdays in December (except 24th, 25th and 31st) there will be a wine and tapas route in the Barrio de la Estación, an activity that invites you to stroll around the wineries and enjoy their wines with a free tapa, while stocks last.

In addition, between 3 December and 5 January, inclusive, any wine tourism activity carried out in the six wineries (including wine tasting in the Wine Bars, tastings, visits to wineries and other activities) will be recorded in a ‘Christmas passport’ with a stamp. Once completed, the visitor must deposit it in the ballot boxes located in the wineries and will be entered into a draw to win ten tickets for La Cata del Barrio de la Estación, the prestigious wine tourism activity that will celebrate a new edition on 18 June 2022.

This year, travelling to the Barrio de la Estación at Christmas invites you to live an intimate experience surrounded by centenary and avant-garde wineries, wine and gastronomy in a unique setting in the world, which dresses up to welcome what is perhaps the most special Christmas in recent years. An initiative that has the support of the LEADER programme grants managed by the Association for the Development of La Rioja Alta (ADRA), as well as La Rioja 360º Avanza.
