The day before the day for the end consumer, Friday 18 September, wine professionals will be able to enjoy a programme prepared especially for them.

There will be two main attractions. Firstly, there will be a historical tasting introduced by the Riojan historian Luis Vicente Elías and conducted by the prestigious international journalist and Master of Wine, Tim Atkin. The tasting will look in depth at the founding of the Barrio de la Estación in the mid-19th century and its evolution during the 20th and 21st centuries, which can be seen through a special tasting of wines produced by the Barrio’s wineries during both centuries.

Secondly, attendees will be able to taste the wines that the Barrio wineries will soon be launching on the market.

In total, more than 400 professionals from all over the world are expected to take part.
