The organisers want to avoid the grape harvest, a period with a lot of activity inside the wineries.

The third edition of “La Cata del Barrio de la Estación” already has its next date. It will finally be in June 2018 when Haro will once again host this great wine event. The fact that the first two editions coincided with the harvest season, a period of intense activity inside the wineries, has led the organisers to decide to designate this new date in order to guarantee, once again, the enormous success obtained in 2015 and 2016.

After these two years of life, “La Cata del Barrio de la Estación” has become a benchmark wine event, establishing this unique space as one of the best wine destinations in the world. In total, more than 10,000 wine enthusiasts, as well as professionals from the sector, enjoyed the first two editions of this great wine culture festival, which was already awarded in 2016 with the “Best Wine Tourism Experience Award” at the International Wine Challenge Awards Spain and, in 2015, with the “Best of the Best Wine Tourism Initiative” prize awarded by the international network of great wine cities Great Wine Capitals.

For 2017, the wineries that make up the Barrio de la Estación Association are committed to giving this activity greater international projection. To this end, for months they have been working intensively on holding a major event abroad to transmit the philosophy, culture, tradition and renowned quality of the wines produced in this special place, which has the largest concentration of prestigious wineries in the world, and is also considered the birthplace of Rioja wine.
