Barrio de la Estación International Wine Encounters I: Bordeaux
On 21 March, the Barrio de la Estación International Wine Encounters I: Bourdeaux will be held, a meeting that will bring together, for the first time, Haro and Bordeaux through an unprecedented tasting. The origins of the best Rioja wine will meet the mythical French region in a tasting that will feature six prestigious châteaux from areas such as Margaux, Saint Émilion, Saint Julien or Pomerol.
Between 10:00 and 19:00, activities will also be held around Haro wine at the six wineries that make up the Barrio de la Estación Wineries Association: Bodegas Bilbaínas – Viña Pomal, CVNE, Gómez Cruzado, La Rioja Alta S.A., Muga and Bodegas RODA.
Una amplia exhibición de novedades, vinos en primicia y etiquetas exclusivas o inéditas que se podrán catar libremente durante todo el día y actividades lúdicas y catas formativas en cada una de las seis bodegas: la maestría del degüelle con Jesús Yagüe en Bilbaínas – Viña Pomal; la cata de cuatro añadas de Real de Asúa en las instalaciones de CVNE; una vertical de Montes Obarenes en Gómez Cruzado; una cata horizontal de la gama de vinos de La Rioja Alta S.A. en su excepcional añada 2001; la trazabilidad en la elaboración de una barrica de manos de los expertos toneleros de Bodegas Muga; y una visita a la nueva bodega sostenible de RODA son las interesantes propuestas de esta inolvidable Jornada Profesional.
Además, los asistentes podrán reponer fuerzas en la zona gastronómica del Barrio.

At Bodegas Bilbaínas-Viña Pomal you can enjoy the unique experience of the disgorgement. The master Jesus Yagüe will do a demonstration of the century-old art of manual disgorgement, stage of elimination of yeasts concentrated in the neck of the bottle of sparkling wine. The relationship of Bodegas Bilbaínas and Viña Pomal’s vineyards with sparkling wine dates back more than a hundred years. In 1913, they were the first winery in lunching sparkling wine made in La Rioja, and they are the second one in history in making this type of wine in Spain. Recently, Lumen first bottles have seen the light; it’s the resurgence of the historic Bodegas Bilbaín brand, elevated as the first quality sparkling PDO Rioja.
